My company shares its premises with two others, New Word Order and Muse. We’ve been co-opted like this for the past 8 years and each and every day I am thankful for this relationship. The sharing of premises is a minor role in a much larger relationship we have between us all. Muse with Flash and New Word Order with its creative communications skills combine with ours to provide a really powerful entity.
I enjoy working together in these teams. The different people provide such varying input. Today, Joe, the creative copywriter (a newcomer to New Word Order) and I chatted about the art of blogging. Landing from America over 3 years ago Joe has a very different take to us Aussies – and to be honest this has been quite refreshing for me. In my career and certainly in building MeTTro I always strive to think differently – to embrace new ways of seeing and then doing things. Having a fresh face from another country (heck, in some ways another world) adds that little spark that sometimes we all need. I find being in a co-op as we are provides this freshness on a daily basis – there is always someone with a new idea or a different spin. The talent is spread across different people and because of the experience of these people I can also lean on my colleagues for that experience as they can me.
Anyhow, just wanted to let everyone know that the co-op environment for us is one that has sustained us for 8 years, grows in more ways than I can appreciate everyday and is certainly something we are all in for the long haul.
